TEDHO is fighting for the rights of all Afghan children, including those in disaster-stricken or otherwise inaccessible regions or areas. By providing education and raising public awareness, TEDHO paves the way for community-based education and is actively engaged in Capacity-building initiatives. We hope to end discrimination in schools based on a person's gender by getting both gender involved in learning. To further this goal, we incorporate the distribution of school supplies for both boys and girls into the planning of our programs. In order to culminate our efforts, we have been repairing and constructing new educational facilities all over Afghanistan.
Our program are:
The Children's Friendly Space (CFS) is a program that brings all the children together who have been traumatized during wars. This program was created to inspire and help the mental health of children of displaced families. Children were provided for psychological education, playing equipment, sports field, etc.
This program was initially sponsored by YHDO for one year (2019 – 2020), Following the Directorate of Labor and Social Affairs of Balkh province was responsible for supporting this program, and thenceforth UNICEF supported this program in cooperation with ADWSO for six months
These centers have been established in suburbs of Mazar-e-Sharif city. About 40 children, both boys and girls, are gathered in each class, and for each class, a teacher is responsible for teaching the children.
The recruitment of the teachers of this center was done by the Directorate of Labor and Social Affairs of Balkh province through open competition.
The teachers of these centers are all ladies,
a monthly salary of 8000 Afghanis was paid for each teacher.
For the children, stationery and play equipment were provided.
During the 3 years, this program had tangible results with the support of the aforementioned organizations. But in the last month, they have stopped supporting this program.
After stopping the financial support of this program, all the teacher continued their classes by teaching the school subjects with private facilities and the support of local people, especially families of children.
The main problems that students and teachers are facing after the end of financial support is the lack of stationery and other teaching facilities. Of course this issue affects the quality of education and demotivated the students.
TEDHO that prioritizes the support of children and their access to education, surveyed 5 CFSs center with a total of 205 students which 138 of them are girls and 67 are boys. This survey has been done on November 11, 2022.
For the purpose of humanitarian aid, during the program, each child received a stationery aid package of three months
